Privacy policy
Last updated: 8 October 2026
1. Who we are
Hiring Signals is a trading name of Profession Partners LLC, a Virginia limited liability company (Virginia SCC entity ID 12042332), 8401 Mayland Drive, Suite A, Richmond, VA 23294, USA. We are the controller of the personal information described here. Contact us about privacy at hello@hiringsignals.co.uk.
2. Whose information we hold
This policy covers two groups of people:
- Our customers: the people who sign up and use Hiring Signals.
- People our customers follow: professionals working at companies our customers are interested in. If you are in this group, we did not get your details from you, so section 7 explains your choices.
3. What we collect
About customers: name, work email address, company, job title, login and usage records, and billing details. Card payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store full card numbers.
About people our customers follow: name, job title, employer, the address of your professional profile, and updates you or your employer have published about your work, such as posts about hiring, new roles or company news. We do not collect personal contact details such as phone numbers or home addresses, or any special category information.
4. Where it comes from
- From customers, who add links to the companies and people they want to follow.
- From multiple sources, including company websites and professional networks.
5. Why we use it, and our legal basis
| What we do | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Provide the service to customers and manage their accounts | Contract |
| Take payments and keep financial records | Contract and legal obligation |
| Gather and summarise professional updates about the people and companies customers follow | Legitimate interests: helping businesses understand hiring activity at the companies they work with |
| Keep the service secure and improve it | Legitimate interests |
| Send customers service emails, and occasional product news they can opt out of | Contract and legitimate interests |
We have assessed our legitimate interests against the rights of the people involved. We keep to professional, work-related information and give everyone an easy way to object.
6. Who we share it with
We do not sell personal information. We share it only with:
- Customers, who see updates about the people and companies they follow.
- Service providers that run Hiring Signals for us under contract: hosting and database providers, payment processing (Stripe), email delivery, data collection services, and AI services that summarise text.
- Authorities, where the law requires it.
We are based in the United States, and so are some of our providers. When information about people in the UK or Europe comes to the US, we use the safeguards those laws require, such as Standard Contractual Clauses with the UK Addendum, or the Data Privacy Framework.
7. If we hold information about you because a customer follows you
You can ask us at any time to stop following you. Email hello@hiringsignals.co.uk with the address of your professional profile and we will remove your information and make sure you are not added again. This is free, and we will confirm within one month.
8. How long we keep it
- Customer account information: while the account is open, then up to 6 years for financial and tax records.
- Information about people customers follow: while at least one customer follows them, then deleted within 90 days.
- Individual updates: up to 12 months.
9. Your rights
You have the right to access your information, correct it, have it deleted, restrict or object to how we use it, and receive a copy in a portable format. To use any of these rights, email hello@hiringsignals.co.uk. You can also complain to your local data protection authority, such as the Information Commissioner’s Office in the UK (ico.org.uk), though we would welcome the chance to put things right first.
10. Security
We protect information with access controls, encryption in transit and limited staff access. Our staff may access account data to provide support. Customers sign in only through our own service, and payment details are handled by Stripe.
11. Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to process payments. We do not use advertising cookies.
12. Changes
If we change this policy in a significant way, we will update the date above and tell customers by email.
